Join us on Saturday June 3 and Walk Gabriola from End to End!
- Meet at Catholic Church at Silva Bay at 10:00 am, depart 10:10. Parking is available.
- Lunch stop at Tait Road (near North Road) 12 – 12:30 pm
- New walkers join here at 12:15
- Rest break at the end of Jeanette approx 1:45 to 2:00
- New walkers join here at 1:45
- Arrive at the Skol pub at approximately 3:30
- Drinks and simple appies are available. Carpool or take regularly scheduled Gertie at 4:30 or 5:30 back to Silva Bay. (Gertie is unavailable for charter).
This route is approximately 13 kilometres (not the 16 advertised). It has the occasional moderate hill. It is mostly on trails but there is some quiet road walking and at the beginning we are on South Road for 10 minutes.
Bring lots of water, snacks and a picnic lunch. No pre-registration required. Walkers by themselves should check in with a GaLTT volunteer at the beginning to provide an emergency contact number.
The walk is offered free of charge but donations are welcome! Thanks to the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC for providing a small grant to help cover costs.
