GaLTT holds trail licences on the McRae covenant lands held by the Gabriola Museum and an adjoining property. Our recent challenge there related to how to install new signage when you’re dealing with solid sandstone and aren’t allowed to bore into the rock.
No dirt? No problem! Board member Lars Hustein saw this solution over on the east coast, other GaLTT members donated the rocks, and staunch volunteers made it happen.
GaLTT is a non-profit, charitable organization with a mandate to protect and restore natural ecosystems on Gabriola and nearby islands, to help provide trail access and other opportunities for people to explore and connect with the natural environment, and to encourage responsible land and water stewardship practices.
