The Gabriola Bioblitz is coming next spring so in preparation, GaLTT Nature Steward volunteer Carol McDougall held an iNaturalist learning event on August 16 at the Commons. The 14 attendees will work on their iNat skills over the winter to become resources during the Bioblitz. To check out this great citizen scientist resource, go to iNaturalist.ca.

(What’s a bioblitz? It’s an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. It improves knowledge of local biodiversity and helps to identify rare and sensitive species.)
