…for June 1st, 2024
GaLTT’s guided End to End Hike June 1 is BC TRAILS DAY! Join us for our annual walk through the varied landscapes we are trying to protect, from one end of Gabriola to the other.
- 10:00 am: begin at Descanso Park campground day use area
- Noon: we’ll break for lunch at the Jeanette Road entrance to the 707 at noon (bring a picnic). This is a good place for starting or ending if you don’t want to walk the whole route.
- 2:15: rest break at Nelder’s Pond, end of Dorby Road.
- 3:45 (approximately): finish at Page’s Marina (you can enjoy a cool drink and snack from the Page’s store).
Please note: EXTREMELY LIMITED PARKING AT PAGES. GERTIE will be available to drive you back to your vehicle (or drop you on North and South Road). Please bring cash for a donation to cover Gertie costs.
No registration is required but people on their own should check in with a GaLTT volunteer and provide an emergency contact number. Hazards on the trails include uneven footing, several short, sharp hills and vehicular traffic.
While there is no fee to join the walk, donations to GaLTT are very much appreciated. Every year, GaLTT spends thousands of dollars on trail construction and maintenance.
