We are the Gabriola Land & Trails Trust. We carry out our activities, with gratitude and respect, on the traditional unceded territories of the Snuneymuxw and other First Nations, whose peoples have had a deep physical and spiritual connection with this island and its surrounding waters since time immemorial..
Our “conserve + connect” tagline expresses our mandate concisely—we aim to conserve areas of environmental, historical, and social importance, and to develop a network of sustainable parklands and trails.

Invasives never rest…
...and neither do we. Our volunteers continued their hard work removing Tansy ragwort before it went to seed—a little earlier than usual this hot summer. They worked in the evenings rather than under the hot midday sun. We thank all hose who helped our teams [...]
More resting benches
And the trails crew installed a couple more of Jamie Doig's lovely resting benches in 707 park and, of course continued their ongoing hard work removing tree falls and trimming trails all around the island.
Who is that person?
Your Board of Directors met in person for the first time this year (distanced and double-vaccinated!) and celebrated afterwards with a potluck supper.
Conservation Survey
On July 23 we closed out our month-long Conservation Survey through which we're trying to discover how much our community is aware of the conservation work that GaLTT does on Gabriola. Over 300 people filled the survey and analysis is on-going. [...]
