Gabriola Land and Trails Trust has several important conservation programs and initiatives that enable Gabriola’s landholders to contribute to the protection of our natural environment. Most of Gabriola is in private hands, so it is up to us to protect our green space. Learn how YOU can protect the future of green space on this island by joining us on November 17 from 4pm to 5.30pm at Gabriola Arts Centre:

  • Ken Gurr will describe how the Nature Stewards program team advises and helps you to green YOUR property, preserving and restoring the natural landscape and habitats.
  • Anne Landry will explain the value of conservation covenants and how they work to protect land in perpetuity. She’ll recount their history on Gabriola, giving local examples, and describe how you might place a covenant on all or part of your land.
  • Bill Pope will explain what legacy giving is—the how and the why.

There will be refreshments and plenty of opportunity to ask the presenters questions.

Space is limited. Please pre-register at programs@galtt.ca
