This loop walk follows a wooded clifftop trail above Whalebone beach and features wonderful views out over the water towards the Sunshine Coast, Howe Sound and the North Shore mountains.

  • Approx Time: 60-75 minutes
  • Approx Distance: 5.5 km
  • Difficulty: moderate, but with roots and a few steep sections (both up and down). Care is needed where trail runs close to cliff-edge
  • Begin: end of Whalebone Drive at entrance to Joyce Lockwood Community Park.

NOTE: trailheads are marked with painted rocks (thanks to Gabriola’s Grade 6/7 class!) and routes are marked with green flagging tape. Both will be removed in late March.
